Summer at English Path Leeds

Whilst the UK is not famous for sun, it is nonetheless one of the best destinations for fun and sights! If you are looking for cities to study English this summer, look no further. Here at English Path Leeds, we not only excel in teaching English, but ensure that students immerse themselves with all that the city has to offer!

With the occasional rain spell, Leeds becomes a vibrant, sunny city during the summer months. One of the biggest cities in the UK, Leeds has plenty to offer for people of all ages and interests. Read on to learn more about this fantastic destination, and all the reasons you should choose to study here!

Historical Sights

Kirkstall Abbey is one the city’s most impressive landmarks, especially when the sun is out. Explore the 12th-century Cistercian monastery ruins before kicking back and enjoying the riverside grounds: With a greenery, tennis court and playground, it makes a perfect spot for a picnic or family day out!

For nature and countryside enthusiasts, be sure visit Roundhay Park, Temple Newsam, Harewood House and the Meanwood Valley Trail. All within a short distance from English Path Leeds, you can easily reach these by public transport. Why not visit before or after your classes, or as part of our social programme?

Music and Partying

Headrow House is one of the city’s many rooftop bars, and popular social hub. Holding 200 people at a time, this two-floor rooftop allows for the best views Leeds can offer on a hot summer’s day!  For music fans, Belgrave Music Hall is the place to be! Watch artists from all over the world performing live, and enjoy the selection of burgers, pizzas, and drinks along the ground floor bars.  Head to the second floor for the music, and on the top floor: (you guessed it) a rooftop! Make sure you add this gem to your list, and soak in the summer vibes on these precious, sunny days.

Beyond Leeds

Studying at English Path Leeds also means you can venture outside the city and explore more of Yorkshire! Here are some of our top recommendations!

Harrogate and Knaresborough: Two towns full of British charm and smiles. Check out Bettys Tea Rooms with its famous cream tea, or row boats along the river Nidd with its medieval castle overlooking.

York: Whether you want to sample the city’s chocolate and fudge, check out Viking and Roman artifacts, or go shopping in its designer outlet, a day visit to York is a must while you’re here. Make sure to check out the world-famous York Minster.

Yorkshire Dales: One of the largest national parks in the country, explore one of its many villages and town while trying out the local delicacies. Whether its Wensleydale cheese, beer from the Black Sheep brewery or a cup of Yorkshire tea, there is something for everyone.

Yorkshire coast: Full of awe-inspiring beaches and nature walks, you need to visit the British seaside while you’re here. Of course, this would be the perfect opportunity to sit down by the beach and have fish & chips the British way!

Don’t forget, all these amazing activities are part of our weekly social programme, so make sure you join our friendly EP team while you are studying with us.
